Every car here has a recorded insurance group of 15 or lower — the lower the group, the cheaper a car generally is to insure, which matters most in your first years of driving.

Every car in the UK is placed in an insurance group from 1 to 50. It’s one of the biggest things an insurer looks at, and it’s the one you can actually choose — a group 8 supermini and a group 30 hot hatch can cost the same to buy and a world apart to insure at 19.

We only list a car here when its insurance group is actually recorded — you’ll find it under “The essentials” on the car’s own page, next to its MOT, service history and running costs. What you personally pay always comes down to your own quote: your age, postcode and history count alongside the car.
